Why should I test my product?
Early and repetitive user testing is essential for user centred design. Focus on your users from the very beginning to make sure you include their preferences, abilities, and limitations in your design. This way you can be sure your uses will like the final product.

What should I test?
Test anything you have. With Usabilla you can get started at the very beginning of your design process. Test any sketch, mockup, or prototype you have to see if you are on the right path. Early feedback not only spares your nerves but also saves you time and money.

Is this a tool for quantitative or qualitative testing?
One of the great things about Usabilla, is that you get both quantitative AND qualitative feedback. Just test big numbers of participants, measure performance, or do A/B tests and you get numbers. Ask participants for their opinion and have their decisions explained with notes and you will collect great qualitative feedback. With Usabilla you can find out about your users action and the attitude that goes with it.
-
Can I start testing right away?
Sure! Definitely! Absolutely! The only condition is that you have some kind of digital design to test. If you do, just sign up for one of our accounts (choose the one that suits you best) and get started on your first test in only a few minutes. Our trial account is free and gives you the chance to get familiar with Usabilla.
-
How many participants do I need for valid test results?
The number of test participants you need depends on on the test. There are no fixed numbers of participants you need to get valid results. If you collect qualitative feedback, you can get valuable insights from only one participant. For performance measures, 50 participants sounds reasonable and for e.g. A/B tests you should aim at a three-digit number.
-
How will people participate in my test?
You can easily invite people to participate in your test through a link which opens the test on our server. Most Usabilla users get good success-rates with a simple email asking for help, a Twitter message, or through their Facebook account. We also provide widgets that you can place on your site for easy continuous testing.
-
Can I run A/B tests with Usabilla?
It can be useful to test two different versions of the same page or image. Depending on your stage in the design process, it can be useful to collect feedback after letting users see and compare two design. You can also only show one design to every participant and compare which design gets better results. The latter is more geared towards performance and the closest to traditional A/B testing. To achieve this, we can create a customized link for you that randomly redirects your participants to either one of the two design versions.
